We were thrilled to learn that the residents at Kent Towers wanted to upgrade their lighting systems to not only save energy but also to reduce their ecological footprint.
The building, a condominium located in the heart of downtown Ottawa and within the Ottawa Centre EcoDistrict, features a variety of one, two and three bedroom suites plus penthouse units. It was built in 1986 and houses 219 units with incredible views of downtown Ottawa. The lower level of the building contains several cafes and a food mart. Other building amenities include security, underground parking, party room, indoor pool, whirlpool, and sauna.
The lighting retrofit project involved the removal of many fluorescent fixtures which, contained mercury. We upgraded lighting systems in the lobby, pool, gym, library, hallways and stairwells to beautiful new fixtures that will save the client 80% energy savings as compared to the old equipment. A considerable amount of certified electrical work was required to complete this project.
